Customs Agents license

For agents transacting business relating to declaration or clearance of goods

  • A customs agency company/firm whose license is currently suspended or has been revoked need not apply.
  • Having no outstanding offense(s).
  • Having no unjustifiable outstanding transactions/DPN’s, Outstanding T1s.
  • Minimum of two (2) employees per company trained in ASYCUDA World Data capture; and one (1) employee holding a Freight Forwarding Certificate issued by URA.
  • Must have an office with sufficient equipment, the physical location (address) of which must be indicated in the application form for verification.
  • Payment of license fee of US $400 (four hundred dollars) on approval of application.
  • Proof of affiliation or membership of a “RECOGNIZED” clearing & forwarding Association.
  • Recent passport sized photographs of directors and staff duly certified by a Notary Public or a Commissioner for Oaths.
  • Renewal of Agency Licenses SHALL be subject to the following;
  • Shareholders, Directors and employees must not have an interest in more than one clearing and forwarding company/firm.
  • Submission of duly completed application form (C.20) after payment of application fee of US$ 50 (Fifty dollars).
  • Tenancy agreement for suitable office accommodation valid up to 31st December 2015 or proof of ownership of office accommodation.
  • The applicant must be tax compliant in all tax heads, i.e. corporation tax, VAT and income tax for the company itself, the directors, shareholders and employees.
